Text Box: 264 Nevarez     El Paso, Texas 79927              866-444-4160 Text Box: Description   Unicoat Surface Primer 865 is a 100% acrylic/styrene resin clear coating for exterior use on above grade walls and previously coated surfaces. It can also be used to prime over E.I.F.S., old stucco, concrete surfaces, and all Unicoat base coats.   Approved Substrates   Unicoat Surface Primer 865 can be applied over new and old stucco, concrete and masonry surfaces, painted surfaces (flat finish). When painting over new stucco and concrete surfaces, it is always recommended that walls be cured out completely and a coat of Unicoat Surface Primer 865 be applied. make sure surfaces are clean before applying coating.   Mixing and Application   Unicoat Surface Primer 865 should be mixed in its own container using a low rpm drill mixer to ensure uniformity and minimize air entrapment.   Do not dilute the Unicoat Surface Primer 865 with more than one gallon of clean potable water. Apply in one coat at 10 mils wet film thickness over substrate. Unicoat Surface Primer 865 can be applied by brush, roller, and spray methods. it is highly recommended to apply by spray, either with an airless type or a Hudson type “bug” sprayer.   Storage   Unicoat Surface Primer 865 should be stored in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight and protected from extreme heat and freezing conditions. Always keep container closed when not in use.     Unicoat Surface Primer 865 has a shelf life of 12 months when these directions are followed.   Coverage   Unicoat Surface Primer 865 covers approximately 800– 1000 square feet per  5gal container, depending on porosity of surface. Drying time is 2 hours at 70° F, if applied at 10 mils w ft.   Try not to re-coat the Unicoat Surface Primer 865 when possible, excessive build up may occur effecting bonding traits of finish coating. protect from freeze or rain for 24 hours.   Limitations   Unicoat Surface Primer 865 must be applied to a clean surface free from all foreign matter, efflorescence, oil, dirt, and any other bond inhibiting materials. Do not use Unicoat Surface Primer 865 in extreme heat and in freezing conditions. Painted surfaces should be at least several months old. All loose paint should be removed.   Warranties   Unicoat Surface Primer 865 can be warranted for up to 10 years when applied by a certified applicator and all ICC or UBC  requirements are fulfilled.   The sole warranty is replacement of materials used to correct defective material; no other warranties are either expressed or implied.     Somar Industries, LTD 264 N.
